I'm Tom Goymour, author of mainly short dark stories.
I like to write fiction from the heart, about the things in life that inspire me. E
very story has a message. Most of my stories are fairly short, but there's always a lot going on. Sometimes you might just need to take that second look.

I live on the outskirts of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, England. I've come to writing relatively late in life having also found art and music my voice-pieces of creativity in the past.
I am the author of THE SPIRIT OF PETERBOROUGH series, and THE SECOND CHANCE SHORT STORY COLLECTION as well as other stories such as I'LL BE THERE FOR THE REPLAY, and PROPHECY OF PEACE – mystery ghost stories that are centred around strands of true past events which will leave the reader thinking.
AUTUMN 2022
Where has the year gone? Writing has taken a back seat for me the last few months ... but for good reason; I have been involved in one or two publishing projects in 2022 and soon I hope to be sharing something that will help other authors get their work pout there.
In the meantime, I am pleased to announce all my books can now be found in one place here B

SPRING 2021
The world is a strange place right now but things are becoming more settled as we begin to rebuild after Covid as best we can. I have been writing on and off over the last year but nothing new is ready yet. I have the outlines, the plots and the enthusiasm for a major series, but not the time to get it out to the world yet.

Watch this space ... there will be several parts to this new dark saga that spreads over several decades.
I have already written the second book ... and part of the first and third books. There are lots of twists and turns and they involve some
characters you've already met in one of my other books!
I'm excited, but it is going to be a while yet. I will place snippets on here as soon as they are ready to go.

...THEN CAME COVID ...

The arrival of Covid-19 in early 2020, and the few months leading up to it have drastically changed the direction of my lifestyle. Changes to my professional day job and a consequential 'need' to secure another business interest forced me to put my writing projects on to the back burner. Where as many have gained time, I have had to use mine elsewhere; it's a long and boring story, but I shall return to writing soon.
Meanwhile, everything I have done is still available from all the e-stores. Copies of my earliest books are still selling on a monthly
basis.

A mystery that will keep you wondering as it spans one hundred years. Billy Sheppardy and his friend Michael Frey find themselves heading across a field in the corner of Essex, England, one cold October evening. When they start to recall a school trip from their junior days, they realise that  other events in their lives seem to be playing an important part and things start to fall strangely into place.
Why are they here? And why tonight?
What happened all those years ago? And what is the significance of the wallet that Billy's Granddad found as a small boy back in 1944?

THE SPIRIT OF PETERBOROUGH

Once I picked this up, I was unable to put it down. Thoroughly enjoyed the book and every page has a twist.  Even when I finished reading it, I was still thinking about the stories for the days following. The author has really captured my imagination and rekindled my love for reading.

Just finished reading Tom Goymour's book The Spirit of Peterborough. A well written collection of stories with a ghostly theme. All have an unexpected twist. Well done Tom, I couldn't put it down! you have such a rich imagination and use of language.
Sue Baron

Having thoroughly enjoyed Tom's first book, I eagerly awaited this publication and it has exceeded my expectations, Tom's descriptive writing is so great that  you can picture each scene as it unfolds and the merging of the ghostly and historical local facts into the story leads to a very interesting and thought provoking read. If you enjoy this book you should really read his  first one too!
